Inca Trail hiking
The Inca Trail is an ancient hiking route that connects the city of Cusco with the famous Inca city of Machu Picchu in Peru. This meandering trail winds through breathtaking scenery, passing through mountains, cloud forests and Inca ruins. It is famous for its ancient archaeological sites, such as Winay Wayna and the Sun Gate, which offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. The trek usually takes three to four days, providing hikers with an unforgettable experience full of history, culture and natural beauty.
The entity in charge of the already famous Inca Trail offers two types of tickets, the 4-day Inca Trail ticket and the 2-day Inca Trail ticket. It is from these tickets that the different versions are created to get to know the Inca Trail.
Located in the Peruvian Andes mountain range, the Inca Trail passes through various types of Andean environments, such as cloud forest and alpine tundra. Settlements, tunnels and many Inca ruins are found along the trail before ending at the Sun Gate on the mountain of Machu Picchu. The two longer routes require an ascent to more than 4200 meters above sea level.
